  1. Allow player payment through no-fee software like Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle.

When payment is accepted through the app the fees can add up fast. For our weekly pick up game of just 10 players we pay $14.70 in fees a week. When you add in the $9/month for pro that comes to $67.80 a month. There should be a way for players to pay using the numerous no-fee payment services out there like Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle.

  2. Spare improvements: Are you available?

I have three classes of players (adult/beer league): Full-time: Rostered guys who paid for the whole season Regular subs (part-time): My go-to subs. They a play a lot but couldn't commit to the whole season. Hail-Mary subs: I rarely use these subs. I only reach out to them if I'm desperate and already burned through 1 & 2. What I would really like is to be able to have BenchApp automatically send emails/texts to my #2 group to get their status. Not so much "you are invited" but more "can you make it, if needed?" If these subs are available, they should go to the waitlist. Then on gameday, I'll have their status ready and I can just put them in if I have spots. I don't want to bug my #3 group via anything automatic, I'll just continue to reach out to them manually (if needed).

  4. Add an INACTIVE player class option

As a manager I need the ability to change a Roster or Spare player to an "Inactive" state or class. I don't want to remove them from my team since they may be taking a season off or be out with a long term injury but will eventually be coming back to play. The Inactive class should not send any automatic notifications to the individual and not allow them to check in or out. I tried using the Injured, Holiday and Suspended options for Spares but that converts them to full time players and increases my roster count. I need to keep a limit on the number of available players and having these inactive players in the roster could present problems if one of them decides to check in for a game. And I believe these inactive players would also receive any Broadcast messages if I send a message to all Roster players. Any Inactive players should be listed within the "Inactive" class for Broadcast and Player lists. When a player is ready to come back to the team I would need to change their class to Roster or Spare.

  5. Split screen

The ability to have BA on a split screen with iPads would make it handy when having to work simutaneously with excel or other programs with our BA data in view.

  6. Create Event on several days

Critical feature for us would be to have the possibility to encode event on several days: e.g. tournament, european championship, world championships,… These could/shall be on several days. We will definitely need that. So instead of duration in hours/minutes, it would be better to put a start date/time, and end date/time, or add the possibility to set up a duration in days for “full day” event. This feature has to be reflected correctly in the subscribed calendar of course…

  7. Automatically ask backup goalies when a goalie can't attend

When a goalie can't make the game, it's an emergency and the captain has to put in a lot of effort to find one. It would be wonderful if we could pre-load 10 backup goalies such that when our goalie checks in and indicates that they won't be playing the game, the app automatically sends an invite to goalies 1 at a time in order. Even better if we can set a respond time limit before the invitation expires and it goes to the next goalie on the list.

  8. Send invite and invite reminders via email AND text!

Right now the system automatically sends invites via email or text, it would be better to send it by both right away and then again any reminders via both email and text. We should also be able to resend invites or send an invite reminder any way we choose even if they have been already notified. Right now it prevents you from sending an invite again via the other option if one has already been sent.

  13. Add multiple options for broadcast messages

For Broadcast Communications, it’d be great if you could send the message more than one way. Some players don’t have one or more of the options (email, text, push). By having to pick one, I am inevitably leaving somebody out. By allowing multiple options for the same message, it would ensure the message is going out to everybody by at least one method.

  14. Practice attendance percentage

With a large team, not everybody can play every game. The practice attendance percentage can help to create lines for the next game. In order to keep it fair for everybody.

  15. App not keeping attendance weekly for players

This is a feature already on the pro app and hasn’t worked all season so far. I have to keep track manually when I pay $10.00 a month for this feature.
